Recently updated, the revamped Period of PURPLE Crying application offers an enriched collection of educational resources covering various child development topics centered around infant crying, soothing techniques, sleep patterns, and managing frustrations. The app boasts a novel feature named "Baby Tracker" enabling parents to meticulously monitor and log feedings, diaper changes, growth milestones, and crying episodes. By utilizing the Baby Tracker, users can closely observe their infant's progression.

The redesigned application encompasses a broad spectrum of evidence-based articles and videos on crucial child development themes that parents commonly struggle with, such as infant crying, sleep routines, soothing methods, and frustration management. Moreover, users gain access to the complete Period of PURPLE Crying video along with the informative Crying, Soothing, and Coping: Doing What Comes Naturally video series.

The innovative "Baby Tracker" embedded in the Period of PURPLE Crying app empowers parents and caregivers to monitor a range of pivotal aspects related to their infant's growth journey including feeding schedules, sleep patterns, crying instances, diaper changes, breast pumping sessions, and physical development. Developed in collaboration with Dr. Ronald G. Barr, a distinguished developmental pediatrician renowned for his extensive research on infant crying behaviors, this evidence-based program is an initiative of the National Center on Shaken Baby Syndrome (NCSBS).

Widely distributed across an array of healthcare settings such as hospitals, home visitation programs, US military services, pediatric practices, and public health offices post childbirth; the Period of PURPLE Crying app can be obtained by inquiring with your healthcare provider for a complimentary activation code. For those whose healthcare provider does not offer access to the initiative, reaching out to NCSBS at purple@dontshake.org would be instrumental in acquiring the application for personal use.
